Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 August 2026

1. Who we are

Jambah (“Jambah”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Jambah dating app and website (jambah.app). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our services, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have.

If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at support@jambah.app.

2. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your full name, your email address or phone number, gender, date of birth, and the city or country you tell us you live in. If you sign up or log in using a phone number, a derived email address is created for your account.

Profile information. Anything you add to your profile, including photos, “about me” text, and your answers about interests and preferences. This information is visible to other Jambah users, so please do not add information you do not want shared.

Usage information. How you use the service, including pages and profiles you view, your matches, and when you use the app.

Location information. We do not collect precise background location from your device. We only use the approximate location you provide in your profile (such as your city) to show matches near you. We may also infer an approximate region from your IP address to determine available features.

Communications. The content of messages you send to other users through the app.

Technical and log data. Device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and similar technical information needed to operate and secure the service.

Payment information. If you purchase a premium subscription, payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card number.

3. How we use your information

To provide and personalise the service, including showing you profiles that match your stated preferences.

To create and manage your account and to keep you signed in across your devices.

To let other users see your profile and communicate with you.

To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app and website.

To send you service communications, such as account notifications.

To comply with legal obligations and to protect the safety, rights, and property of Jambah and our users.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it to serve third-party advertisements.

4. Information you share publicly

Your profile, including your photos and profile text, is visible to other registered Jambah users. Do not share sensitive personal information (such as your address, financial details, or identity documents) in your profile or messages.

Anything you post in messages to another user is visible to that user.

5. How we share information

With other users: your profile is displayed to other registered users as part of the service.

Service providers: we use trusted providers to host and operate the service, including Supabase (database and authentication) and Vercel (website hosting). These providers process data only to provide services on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Payment providers: to process premium purchases, where you pay for the service.

Legal purposes: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or where necessary to enforce our Terms of Service, to protect rights and safety, or to detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not share your personal information with advertising partners, and we do not sell it.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, so we can provide the service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we are required to keep it for legal, tax, or security reasons.

7. How we protect your information

We use encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Your session credentials are stored securely on your device.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights and choices

You can review and edit most of your profile information at any time in the app’s settings.

You can close your account and request deletion of your data at any time from the app’s settings, or by contacting support@jambah.app. Deleting your account removes your profile from the service.

You can also request deletion using our dedicated data-deletion page at jambah.app/data-deletion.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law, including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy of your data. To exercise these rights, contact support@jambah.app.

9. Children’s privacy

Jambah is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact support@jambah.app and we will take steps to remove the information.

Jambah has a zero-tolerance policy against child sexual abuse and exploitation. Read our published Child Safety Standards at jambah.app/child-safety.

10. International data transfers

Your information may be processed in countries outside your own, including where our hosting providers are located. We take steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with this policy and applicable law wherever it is processed.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

12. Contact us
